Announcing the 2nd Annual ODCC Chili Cook-Off on December 12th, 2009.
Few afternoons or evenings are better spent sharing good conversation and a good meal with fellow Corvette owners. It's that time again to spice things up a little bit; time to mix in some cooking and competition. If you have ever cooked chili, now's your chance to impress.
In an effort to ease the hectic holiday shopping season, we have again combined the monthly club meeting and the chili event. So mark your calendar now! Arrive at 5pm, Judging (eating) starts by 6pm, and awards by 8pm-ish.
Members cook their own chili and corn bread (optional) recipes at home, and bring them in a slow cooker or warming plate (bring a serving utensil). Entrants are permitted to have multiple dishes. Each dish will be assigned a number and evaluated using blind taste-testing. We’ll use the same chili taste-testing checklist as the professionals do:
The club will provide all the stuff you need to participate (bowls, spoons, soft drinks, checklists, pencils, bibs). All you need to do is bring your taste buds and a hearty appetite.
The winner of the contest receives the coveted ODCC Chili Cook-Off Trophy to proudly display until next year. This year we will also judge the best named entry (a Corvette Theme is encouraged.)
Make sure you select 1 ticket for each person in your party (2 for a couple)
